Archaeological conservation and restoration

Archaeological conservation and restoration, due to its importance for scientific research, requires technical expertise and basic knowledge (historical, artistic, scientific and technical). It is essential to have a thorough understanding of the materials and the factors affecting their deterioration and conservation in order to develop a sound conservation proposal.

We follow a rigorous methodology through the following stages: documentation, diagnosis and analytical studies, cleaning, consolidation and reintegration.

The conservation process begins when archaeological remains are uncovered at the archaeological site; therefore, interdisciplinary support from other specialists is essential.
