Conservation and restoration of contemporary art
Addressing the conservation-restoration of contemporary art presents specific challenges due to its material diversity, fragility, conceptual nature and obsolescence, which differ from those of traditional art.
In-depth knowledge of the properties and ageing of mixed materials is required, as well as the use of stable, reversible products that respect the original, together with respect for the artistic intention and copyright.
Internal factors (incompatibility, experimentation) and external factors (environment, handling, transport) are taken into consideration.
Our professional experience has led us to restore several contemporary artworks, mostly paintings and sculptures.
