Work Process
MENIA RESTORATION & HERITAGE
At Menia Restoration and Heritage, we prioritize the conservation of the artwork to be intervened, clearly defining treatments according to international conservation criteria.
The treatments applied will be stable, reversible, and will not alter the original appearance.
Each intervention will be justified based on the conservation status, historical evolution, object characteristics, use, location, etc., especially the reintegrations.
Actions on supports will follow the criterion of minimal necessary intervention to guarantee the stability of the different layers composing the object. Structural reintegrations will be justified based on the search for stability of the artwork, and must be identified and documented. Materials used will be selected based on the original materials, ensuring perfect harmony between them and avoiding any impact on their future evolution.
Iconographic reintegrations will be justified, documented, and must be perfectly identifiable without illusionistic reactions. Execution materials will be reversible, and identification techniques will adapt to the same plastic characteristics of the artwork.
Initial Contact
FIRST STEP
The first thing we do when a client contacts us is to visit the artwork, to understand, document, and analyze it. During this visit, our personalized approach will facilitate a thorough study of the artwork, enabling us to offer a treatment proposal according to the diagnosis.

Proposal
SECOND STEP
The next step is to send the client our treatment proposal, work phases, budget, and delivery date. We will also inform them about the restoration criteria we will follow and our work process, whether in the workshop or at their location.
All these procedures are free and without obligation.

In the Workshop...
THIRD STEP
In the workshop: our work will depend on the piece to be restored; it is "it" that dictates the treatment we will perform, based on the results obtained in the diagnosis and tests conducted.
For each intervention, we will use appropriate materials, respecting the original characteristics of the artwork and ensuring that the materials are reversible and durable.

Delivery
FOURTH STEP
This is the best moment when we finish a job and are pleased with the result. But there are no words to describe what it means for us to see the face of a client satisfied with the work. Because often it is not so much the artistic or historical value of the piece as the sentimental value it holds for its owner.
