Work Process

MENIA RESTORATION & HERITAGE

At Menia Restoration and Heritage, we prioritize the conservation of the artwork to be intervened, clearly defining treatments according to international conservation criteria.

The treatments applied will be stable, reversible, and will not alter the original appearance.

Each intervention will be justified based on the conservation status, historical evolution, object characteristics, use, location, etc., especially the reintegrations.

Actions on supports will follow the criterion of minimal necessary intervention to guarantee the stability of the different layers composing the object. Structural reintegrations will be justified based on the search for stability of the artwork, and must be identified and documented. Materials used will be selected based on the original materials, ensuring perfect harmony between them and avoiding any impact on their future evolution.

Iconographic reintegrations will be justified, documented, and must be perfectly identifiable without illusionistic reactions. Execution materials will be reversible, and identification techniques will adapt to the same plastic characteristics of the artwork.
